BIOGRAPHY

Amber Clarke-McGrath is an emerging director based in Cardiff. Much of her work surrounds issues affecting her generation, and she uses her own experiences in life as reference to her filmmaking. She has a bold visual style which reflects an experimental undertone in much of her work. She is passionate about female voices being heard from behind and in front of the camera, and is interested in exploring the female perspective through her storytelling. Her previous filmmaking successes include winning the 'Highly Commended' prize at the Cinemagic Young Filmmaker Competition for her short film 'Intrusive'. Her short films have been screened across many film festivals within the UK and continue to do well on the festival circuit, recently being nominated for the 2023 'Rising Star Award' at BIFA qualifying Women X Film Festival for her short film 'Hairy'.
